That water ballet
Concept
That Water Ballet is a celebration of movement and softness—a visual dance where water and light intertwine. Inspired by quiet moments watching the sea’s surface shift and fold, this painting captures the gentle choreography of waves as they rise, dissolve, and reform.
The layered forms suggest an ongoing dialogue between motion and stillness, reflecting how water holds both calm and energy at once. Subtle gradations of blue, white, and soft green create an atmosphere that feels both serene and alive, as if the entire surface is breathing.
As I painted this piece, I thought of how water mirrors emotion—fluid, unpredictable, yet always finding its way forward. That Water Ballet invites the viewer to pause, to notice the delicate transitions that happen in nature and within ourselves. It offers a contemplative space where presence and impermanence coexist.
