Waltzing underwater
Concept
Waltzing Underwater is a reflection on the quiet dance of movement beneath the surface—a visual interpretation of how water sways and shifts, as if guided by a hidden rhythm.
Its palette and atmosphere are also deeply connected to a wonderful bay where I could swim years ago in Mauritius—a place where the water was crystal clear, the blues endlessly layered, and time seemed to slow down. The memory of that bay informed every brushstroke, bringing back a sense of serenity and immersion.
The layered forms drift and intertwine, echoing the graceful curves of currents and the soft pulse of the ocean’s depth. Shades of deep blue, turquoise, and white create a serene yet dynamic atmosphere, suggesting a peaceful surrender to natural flow.
For me, this piece is about fluidity, grace, and stillness within motion. It invites viewers to slow down, to feel immersed in this underwater dance where the boundaries between earth and sea dissolve into softness and rhythm.
